De Beer has its origins in the sanitary sealing industry, with nearly 70 years of experience in sealing technology. In the meantime, within the group we produce seals for a very wide variety of industries in a variety of ways: flat gaskets are die-cut from sheet material. Shaped gaskets are made of thermoplastic elastomers manufactured by means of injection moulding.
De Beer can produce the flat seals as shown on the drawing from one piece on its CNC cutting machines. But runs of several million pieces are produced efficiently.
Seals may also be attached to hard plastic parts by means of 2-component injection moulding. This saves an assembly step, or seals are made possible in places where no separate seal is possible.
Seals are often small, but crucial components of a product or system. Sealing extremely diverse applications is a challenge every time that requires understanding the science behind the sealing technique. De Beer applies sealing theory and material knowledge in developing solutions for customers.
